Academy Hall, University building in Edinboro, United States.

Academy Hall is a university building in Edinboro featuring a two-story structure topped with a cupola, and wings containing stairwells on the north and south sides. The structure underwent extensive restoration in 2007, which added a new mezzanine on the first floor and updated its mechanical systems.

Built in 1857, this is the oldest building at PennWest Edinboro and the first normal school structure in Pennsylvania. In 1880, it was relocated about 60 meters to its current location while preserving its original exterior walls.

The building shows Renaissance Revival design through its balanced layout, grand staircases, and detailed stonework that visitors can observe throughout the interior. These architectural choices reflect the style favored for important educational buildings during the 19th century.

The building is part of the university campus and is best visited when classes are in session if you want to explore the interior. The restored structure is accessible and offers a good overview of the university's historic architecture.

The building was relocated about 60 meters to its current location in 1880, an unusual feat for a massive stone structure of this size. This move was necessary to make room for campus development while preserving the historic structure.
