Built in 1857, Academy Hall stands as the oldest building at PennWest Edinboro and the first normal school structure in Pennsylvania.
The building demonstrates Renaissance Revival design elements through its symmetrical composition, grand staircases, and detailed stonework patterns.
Following a 2.4 million dollar restoration completed in 2007, Academy Hall received updates including a new mezzanine on the first floor.
The structure traveled 200 yards to its current location in 1880, maintaining its original exterior features except for foundation changes.
