Aldrich Mansion, Historic mansion in Warwick, United States
The Aldrich Mansion is a stone residence in French Renaissance style covering 74 acres (30 hectares) on Warwick Neck Avenue overlooking Narragansett Bay. The interior includes several salons, a grand entrance hall, and outbuildings set within parklike grounds.
The residence was completed in 1899 as the home of Senator Nelson W. Aldrich. The Diocese of Providence acquired it forty years later for use as a seminary.
The name comes from Senator Nelson W. Aldrich, who built the residence and used it for political and social gatherings. The salons and reception rooms still show the lifestyle of wealthy American families from that period.
The venue offers rooms equipped with basic furnishings for celebrations and separate areas for preparation. The grounds are accessible to visitors, while the interior is mainly used during scheduled events.
Abby Aldrich married John D. Rockefeller Jr. here in 1901. This union shaped the collaboration between two of the most influential American families of the 20th century.
