BearTracks Studios was a recording studio in Suffern, New York, equipped with multiple recording rooms and professional-grade equipment. The facility featured an API 1608 console that allowed engineers to capture and mix high-quality audio recordings.
The studio opened in 1982 and operated for more than two decades before closing in 2006. It was owned and run by Jay Beckenstein, a member of the jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra.
The studio served as a creative hub where artists from different musical styles came to record their work. Musicians spanning rock, pop, and jazz genres used the facility to bring their songs to life.
The studio was located on Haverstraw Road and offered recording, mixing, and mastering services. Engineers had access to a broad range of microphones and equipment that could accommodate different recording styles and needs.
The building and surrounding property appeared on Dream Theater's album 'Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory' as artwork. The location also served as a filming location for music videos and promotional materials.
