Beth Israel Congregation, Reform Jewish synagogue in Bellingham, Washington, US
The synagogue at 751 San Juan Boulevard features a modern architectural design with space for over 500 people during religious services.
The congregation, established in 1908 by Lithuanian Jewish immigrants, represents one of the longest-standing Jewish communities in Western Washington.
The congregation shifted from Orthodox traditions to Reform Judaism practices after World War II, joining the Union of American Hebrew Congregations in 1987.
The synagogue maintains regular Shabbat services with 30 to 50 attendees, creating opportunities for community gatherings and religious education.
The congregation moved to its current location in 2018, serving 275 families under the leadership of Rabbi Joshua Samuels.
