Bent's Opera House

Bent's Opera House is a three-story sandstone building on Main Street that combines an event space with hotel rooms and a restaurant. The structure retains its original character with wooden floors, period details, and a stage in the main hall where performances take place.

The building was constructed in 1865 during the Civil War, making it one of the oldest surviving theater buildings in the country. It hosted performances and public gatherings for decades before transitioning into its current mixed-use function in more recent times.

The name came from the builder's original vision for the space, even though the venue attracted theater performances and musical events rather than opera productions. It served as a gathering place where the community came together for entertainment and social occasions.
