Bowman's Castle

Bowman's Castle is a stone and brick house in Brownsville featuring a Victorian-style tower and multiple rooms across several floors. The building sits at the end of a historic trail near the Monongahela River, overlooking the surrounding landscape.

Jacob Bowman started construction in the late 1790s at a location near an earlier fort, following the settlement of the region after the Revolutionary War. The structure grew over time as later owners added new sections and expanded the property.

Three generations of the Bowman family resided in this residence, which now functions as a museum displaying artifacts from Pennsylvania's early settlement period.
