Broad Street United Methodist Church

Broad Street United Methodist Church is a protestant church in Cleveland, Tennessee, built in the Romanesque Revival style with a striking exterior of brick, stone, and marble. The sanctuary follows an interior layout that was widely adopted by Methodist congregations in the late 1800s.

The Methodist congregation began gathering in 1836 at the Bradley County Courthouse before moving through several locations over the decades. The building standing today was completed in 1893, replacing earlier structures that served the growing community.

The church follows an Akron plan sanctuary layout, which became a standard architectural approach for Protestant churches in late 19th century America.
