Canoe Creek State Park, State park in Frankstown Township, US
The 961-acre natural area includes a 155-acre lake, wetlands, old fields, and forests that support diverse wildlife populations at 40.49°N latitude.
The park grounds contain limestone quarries and kilns from the 1900s that supplied materials to Pennsylvania's iron and steel manufacturing industries.
The Frank Felbaum Bat Sanctuary, housed in a former church building, maintains Pennsylvania's largest nursery colony of little brown bats.
Eight miles of trails accommodate hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and mountain biking through various terrain types and past historic structures.
The park provides critical habitat for migrating birds including bald eagles, ospreys, and numerous waterfowl species throughout the seasonal cycles.
