Coolidge Estate

Coolidge Estate is a protected property in Topsfield, Massachusetts, featuring a Georgian mansion with 24 rooms and hand-carved wooden details across more than 560 acres. The land extends along the Ipswich River and combines the main house with open fields and wooded areas.

The mansion was built in 1921 for John L. Saltonstall but incorporated older architectural features from a 1790 house on the site. It later passed to William A. Coolidge and then to MIT in 1992.

The estate displays architecture from the 1790s that visitors can see today in its rooms and landscaping design. Walking through the property, you notice how these elements blend with the natural surroundings to create a distinct historical setting.
