Davenport Skybridge, Cable-stayed footbridge in downtown Davenport, United States.
The Davenport Skybridge is a cable-stayed footbridge in downtown that crosses River Drive and connects LeClaire Park to Second Street. The structure is made of steel and glass and runs about 50 feet above the roadway.
The bridge opened in 2005 as part of the River Renaissance program, which revitalized the city's waterfront area. The project was funded through state grants and local contributions.
The bridge offers visitors a viewpoint to watch Mississippi River barges and activities in LeClaire Park below. From here, you can observe concerts at the park's bandshell and festivals happening along the Davenport Levee.
The walkway is covered and offers pedestrians safe passage over the street with access to downtown parking and the riverfront park. The crossing is always open and requires no special arrangements.
The interior of the bridge is fitted with thousands of LED lights that create color-changing patterns and glow with festive displays during holidays. This nighttime illumination is visible from the surrounding area and makes the bridge a visual landmark after dark.
