Devil's Hopyard State Park

Devil's Hopyard State Park is a protected natural area in Connecticut featuring a waterfall that drops over rock layers along the Eightmile River. The site spreads through woodlands and displays distinctive cylindrical depressions in the bedrock that were carved by natural erosion processes.

The land became protected in 1919 after being used for farming and quarrying operations by private owners. This shift transformed it into a public recreation area where the natural landscape could be preserved.
