General Squier Memorial Park
General Squier Memorial Park, Historical park in Dryden Township, US.
General Squier Memorial Park is a historical property spanning about 80 acres with a three-story timber mill, Forest Hall, residential buildings, and recreational facilities. The site combines structures from the 1800s with modern amenities arranged throughout the grounds.
Major General George Owen Squier purchased the property in 1917 and converted the decaying mill site into a community country club with no admission fee. This transformation allowed local people to enjoy the grounds freely.
The space functions as a gathering place where people participate in community events and educational programs year-round. Residents and visitors connect through activities that reflect the traditions and rhythms of local life.
The park provides meeting rooms, kitchens, recreational areas, and parking throughout the grounds for visitors. You can walk the property to view the various buildings and structures at your own pace.
The three-story timber mill dates to 1871 and remains the oldest standing structure on the grounds, reflecting the region's industrial past. This building provides a tangible connection to when the site actively processed wood.
