Eagle Raceway, dirt track
Eagle Raceway is a motorsport racing track in Nebraska with a dirt surface measuring about one-third of a mile and situated in a natural bowl with high banks. The facility features grandstands, driver preparation areas, and can hold several thousand spectators.
The track was built in the early 1960s by Dale Halvorsen and Harvey Kropp on farmland, with the natural terrain already ideal for racing construction. After closures and ownership changes between the 1970s and 1990s, during which known drivers like Jeff Gordon competed there, it underwent several renovations and has remained active since 2023 with the High Limit Sprint Car Series.
Eagle Raceway takes its name from its location near the town of Eagle. The place brings together racing fans and local drivers who share a passion for motorsport and gather as a community.
The site is located east of Eagle along U.S. Highway 34, making it easy to reach by car. The facility has camping areas for overnight visitors, and event information is available through its website.
The track is known as the 'World's Fastest Third Mile' because cars can reach unusual speeds on the dirt surface with its high banks. This natural landscape design turned farmland into a perfectly shaped racing circuit.
