Dwight-Englewood School, Private school in Englewood, New Jersey.

Dwight-Englewood School is a private institution on 45 acres in Englewood with 15 buildings designed for different learning areas. The campus includes specialized facilities for sciences, arts, and athletics alongside classrooms serving students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

The school was founded in 1889 as Dwight School for Girls, named after Yale University president Timothy Dwight V. In 1973 it merged with Englewood School for Boys to become the coeducational institution it is today.

The school welcomes students from many backgrounds and provides spaces where music, theater, and visual arts are integrated into daily learning. These creative pursuits shape how students spend their time and express themselves within the school community.

The school is located at 315 East Palisade Avenue and welcomes visitors, though it is best to contact the administrative office beforehand. The campus is expansive, so allow time to walk around and explore the different teaching, athletic, and arts areas.

A distinctive feature is the opera program for fifth-graders where students compose and perform their own production. This project happens in partnership with the Metropolitan Opera and gives young performers direct experience with classical music.
