Endless Caverns

Endless Caverns is a cave system in New Market with more than 5.5 miles of passages, chambers, and natural stone formations that developed over thousands of years. The underground landscape displays mineral deposits and various geological features shaped by the work of water.

Two boys discovered the entrance in 1879 while hunting on a local farm, which led to early visits using candles for light. This initial exploration of the underground passages established the foundation for its later development as a tourist site.

The cave functions as a place where people come to understand how minerals form and how water shapes underground worlds. Visitors often spend time here learning about the natural forces that create these hidden spaces beneath the earth.

Tours run regularly throughout the warmer months and last about 75 minutes with frequent departures during the day. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a layer of clothing since the underground stays cool year-round.

The system maintains a steady temperature of about 55 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, making it naturally cool despite the season outside. Small brown bats inhabit the passages and visitors can spot them along the guided route.
