The Museo Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho presents exhibits focusing on Antonio José de Sucre through a collection of military artifacts, historical documents, and personal belongings.
The museum, established in 1974, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Ayacucho and occupies a building originally constructed as a municipal council headquarters.
The permanent exhibition contains over one hundred historical pieces arranged in the Mariana Carcelén y Larrea de Sucre hall, reflecting Venezuelan military heritage.
Visitors can explore the museum from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with weekend hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The ground floor displays a 1533 Spanish silk banner and a fabric woven with gold and silver threads, originally given to Sucre and later donated.
