Xá Lợi Pagoda

Xa Loi Pagoda is a Buddhist temple in Ho Chi Minh City featuring a seven-story bell tower that houses a large bronze bell modeled after the design of Thien Mu Pagoda. The tower serves as the visual centerpiece of this religious complex in the city.

The temple was built in 1956 and quickly became an important religious and social center in the city. In 1963, major protests took place here against government policies, marking this location as a site of significant public resistance.

The main hall displays fourteen artistic panels showing the life journey of Gautama Buddha, with each work illustrating different stages from his birth through his spiritual development.

The temple welcomes visitors who should wear appropriate clothing when entering the prayer halls and sacred spaces. It is important to be respectful and avoid disturbing the monks and worshippers during their religious activities.

Inside the complex stands a small stupa containing authentic relics of Gautama Buddha, making this one of the most important Buddhist centers in South Vietnam. These sacred remains draw pilgrims and devotees throughout the year.
