Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Zoo and botanical garden in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The 20-hectare complex contains over 100 animal species and hundreds of tropical plants, including rare orchids and century-old trees.

French colonial administrators established the facility in 1865, making it the eighth oldest zoo globally and a significant scientific research center.

The site includes a temple dedicated to the Hung Kings, built in 1926 to commemorate Vietnamese soldiers who served in World War I.

The garden operates daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with entrances at 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street and 1 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street.

A three-ton bronze elephant statue stands next to the Hung Kings temple, featuring intricate artistic carvings and traditional Vietnamese designs.
