District 3

District 3 is an urban district in Ho Chi Minh City that borders several neighboring districts and forms a central area of the metropolis. The zone contains a mix of residential streets, religious buildings, and commercial spaces that create the everyday rhythm of the neighborhood.

The district was established in the early 1920s and initially served as an administrative hub for foreign embassies. Over the decades, it gradually transformed from a political center into a thriving commercial area.

The district is home to several important temples including Xá Lợi and Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda, which reflect the spiritual life of the community. French colonial villas scattered throughout the area show the architectural tastes that shaped the neighborhood over time.

The neighborhood is easy to explore on foot since major sites are relatively close together. Taxis and motorbike taxis are readily available throughout the area and offer quick ways to get around.

Saigon Railway Station is located here and serves as the main departure point for trains traveling throughout Vietnam. Many visitors pass through without realizing this historic station remains a working hub that still moves thousands of people daily.
