North Avenue Grand Central Station, Railway and elevated station in Quezon City, Philippines
North Avenue Grand Central Station is a major transit junction in Quezon City where four different rail systems meet: Lines 1, 3, and 7, plus the upcoming Metro Manila Subway. The building spans multiple levels with platforms and connecting passages designed to move passengers smoothly between each system.
The project originated in 2011 and entered construction in September 2017, reaching advanced stages of completion by early 2023. It was developed to address growing transportation demand across the expanding metropolitan area.
The station brings together rail lines that serve different parts of the metropolitan area, becoming a daily meeting point for commuters from across the city. It shapes how people move through and experience their urban routines.
The station divides into three main areas: Area A serving Lines 1 and 3, Area B as a connecting section, and Area C for Line 7. Allow extra time to navigate between levels using the posted signage to find your connection.
The project faced an unusual engineering challenge: connecting four rail systems with different gauges and operating standards into one seamless interchange. This technical complexity makes it one of the city's most demanding integration projects.
