The cathedral serves as the ecclesiastical seat of the Archdiocese of Davao, ministering to over 1.6 million Catholics in the southern Mindanao region.
Morning masses start at 5:30 AM on weekdays, while confession sessions take place every Wednesday and Friday at the cathedral.
The cathedral experienced two separate bombing incidents, in 1981 and 1993, leading to increased security measures throughout the building.
