Igreja de São Bartolomeu, matriz de Pechão, Parish church in Pechão, Portugal.
Igreja de São Bartolomeu is a rectangular parish church in Pechão located at the village's highest point. From this position, views extend across the landscape toward the ocean.
An earlier 15th-century shrine was replaced by the current building, constructed between 1758 and 1800. The main chapel was added in 1815 and completed the structure.
The polychrome wooden altars were created in 1859 and 1866, showing how craftspeople rebuilt this place after war damage. The carved details and painted surfaces reflect local artistic traditions of that period.
The church is located in Sítio da Igreja in the Pechão district and is accessible via the village's main paths. Visitors should arrive early to enjoy the best views and quiet moments.
Next to the main building stands a small chapel with an 18th-century facade that preserves earlier burial practices. This separate structure is rarely visited, though it forms part of the local religious history.
