Novokosino, Metro station in Novokosino District, Russia
Novokosino is an underground metro station in the Novokosino District, on the eastern edge of Moscow near the city of Reutov. It sits on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line and has a single island platform served by two tracks.
Work on extending the line to Novokosino started in 2008, and the station opened in 2012. At the time it was the eastern terminus of the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line, pushing the network further into the city's outer districts.
The station sits on the boundary between Moscow and the city of Reutov, which is unusual for a Moscow metro stop. Many commuters from Reutov use it daily as their entry point into the wider metro network.
The station is the most direct way to travel between the Novokosino District, Reutov, and central Moscow. Platforms get noticeably crowded during morning and evening rush hours, so visiting outside those windows makes the journey more comfortable.
Although Novokosino is officially within Moscow, the station also functions as the main gateway for residents of Reutov, which is a separate city outside Moscow's administrative boundary. This makes it one of the few metro stops that directly connects two legally distinct cities.
