ODON, Military division in Reutov, Russia
ODON is a military formation based in Balashikha within Moscow Oblast. The unit comprises several regiments and operates from multiple sites throughout the region, handling security tasks for the capital area.
The unit was established on June 17, 1924, from a motorized fighting detachment and grew into a specialized formation. It took part in the Winter War and World War II, gaining major combat experience during those conflicts.
The division selected the Panther as its symbol, while nineteen of its soldiers received the Hero of Russia title for their exceptional service.
The unit is an active military facility with no public access or visitor arrangements. Its installations are located in and around Balashikha and Reutov, where only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
The formation took part in 140 military parades, including the legendary November 1941 parade held during the Battle of Moscow. It also marched in the Victory Parade of June 1945, marking the end of the war in Europe.
