Kazan Zoo & Botanical Garden

Kazan Zoo and Botanical Garden occupies extensive grounds along Lake Kaban's shore and houses more than 160 animal species alongside diverse plant collections. The facility combines animal habitats with gardens and green spaces that visitors can explore throughout the day.

The botanical collections trace their roots to early scientific efforts, while the zoo portion developed during the 20th century. Both sections grew over the decades to eventually form the unified facility that exists today.

The institution maintains partnerships with 50 zoos and 30 botanical gardens worldwide, contributing to international species preservation programs.

The grounds are open to visitors daily and accessible by walking paths that lead through all sections. Comfortable footwear is recommended since exploration requires walking across the entire property.
