Cordón litoral de Anapa, песчаная коса между Анапой и мысом Железный Рог
The Cordón litoral de Anapa is a sandy spit extending about 43 kilometers along the Black Sea, connecting the city to the coast and forming a natural barrier between the sea and inland salt lakes. The landform is composed of Caucasian quartz sand mixed with mollusk shells, creating a soft beach that stretches continuously along the water's edge.
The spit formed over thousands of years through sediment deposits brought by the Kuban River and nearby waterways, gradually creating this distinctive landform. This area has long served local fishermen as an important access point to fishing grounds and remains central to the region's maritime activities.
The beaches and spit are easily accessible by car and on foot, with parking available near the public paths leading to the sand. The area is open year-round, though late spring through early fall offers the warmest conditions for swimming and walking.
The spit acts as a natural shield against storms and strong sea winds, protecting inland areas from rough weather. The vegetation growing on the dunes helps maintain their stability and prevents erosion.
