Anapa lighthouse

Anapa lighthouse is a white and black striped structure standing 21 meters tall on the Black Sea shore. The beacon sends navigation signals that can be seen from vessels at sea and features a viewing platform at ground level where visitors can observe the water.

The first lighthouse was constructed in 1898 to aid maritime navigation along the coast. German forces destroyed it in 1943 during World War II, but it was rebuilt afterward and has continued to serve ships ever since.

The lighthouse represents the maritime identity of Anapa and reflects how the city has long depended on the sea for its livelihood. Today it stands as a reminder of the fishing and shipping traditions that shaped this coastal community.
