Dubovaya roshcha

Dubovaya roshcha is a protected natural site covering about 57 hectares with numerous oak trees and walking paths throughout the grounds. The area includes a stream with bridges crossing it, along with playgrounds, benches, and recreational facilities for visitors.

The site received official protection status in 1959 and was among the first environmental conservation efforts in the Elista region. This designation helped safeguard the existing oak population and natural ecosystem for future generations.

The grove serves as a gathering spot where local residents spend afternoons with family and friends throughout the year. You will see people walking, sitting on benches, and enjoying time outdoors in this central location.

The grounds are open to visitors on most days with clearly marked paths that make navigation easy. It is best to visit in early morning hours or on weekends when the area is less crowded.

Some of the oak trees here date back to the 18th century and are among the oldest living things in the urban area. These ancient trees stand out because they survive in the heart of the city surrounded by modern development.
