The bridge spans 957 meters across the Amur Channel, connecting the mainland of Khabarovsk Region with Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island.
Before October 2013, the region relied on a pontoon bridge that operated during summer and an ice crossing during winter months.
The bridge construction marked a turning point in Russian-Chinese relations, enhancing connectivity between Khabarovsk Region and Heilongjiang Province.
The bridge features two traffic lanes and stands 13 meters above water level, ensuring year-round vehicle passage regardless of weather conditions.
This infrastructure replaced Russia's largest floating automobile bridge, which required four days of assembly each navigation season.
