Benefis is a drama theatre at 23 Garibaldi Street, Building 4, in Moscow's Novye Cheryomushki district. It was founded in 1987 as an experimental studio theatre and became a state theatre in 1991. Its artistic director is Anna Nerovnaya, a Honoured Artist of Russia.

The theatre was founded in 1987 as an experimental studio theatre, shortly after its organiser Anna Nerovnaya won a prize for best direction of contemporary drama at the international festival Lefortovo Games-87. The initiative to create a repertory theatre in Novye Cheryomushki came from the district culture executive committee, which allocated premises at 23 Garibaldi Street, Building 4. In 1991 the theatre received state status and has since been funded by the Moscow government.

The name Benefis refers to a benefit performance, a gala given for one actor. The repertoire mixes Russian classics with contemporary plays: Chekhov's The Bride, Vampilov's A Story with a Typist, Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and a musical on Ostrovsky's plots. Children's fairy-tale musicals are also staged.
