Uritskogo park, Kazan

Uritskogo park is a public green space in the northwestern part of Kazan, bordered by Khasan Tufan Street, Akademik Korolev Street, Vasilchenko Street, and Gagarin Street. The space contains football fields, basketball courts, workout equipment, and running tracks with specialized surfaces for exercise.

The park was first transformed in 2005 to mark Kazan's thousand-year anniversary. A second major renovation took place in 2016 to improve pathways and facilities throughout the space.

The entrance displays a memorial complex dedicated to fallen soldiers from World War Two, where visitors lay flowers in remembrance. This monument shapes how the community uses the space and remains important to the city's collective memory.

The park is best explored on foot, with connected pathways leading to different sports areas. Visitors should note that the tracks and workout equipment see heavy use during warmer months.

During the 1970s, a decommissioned AN-10 passenger aircraft was stationed on the grounds, where children watched cartoons inside its cabin. This unusual cinema became a beloved gathering spot for generations of children from the neighborhood.
