Bonnierhuset, Sveavägen, Apartment building on Sveavägen, Stockholm, Sweden
Bonnierhuset is an apartment building with late 19th-century architecture located along Sveavägen in central Stockholm. Its structure combines residential units on upper floors with office spaces that have been occupied primarily by media companies.
Construction took place between 1882 and 1884 under architect Fredrik Olaus Lindström, originally built for confectioner August Reinhold. The publishing company Bonnier acquired the property in 1921 and has retained it as its headquarters ever since.
The building has housed offices of the Bonnier publishing group for over a century, one of Sweden's largest media companies. Its presence on Sveavägen reflects the street's role as a center for business and cultural institutions.
The building sits on a main thoroughfare in central Stockholm with good access to public transportation. Since it functions as an active office building, public tours are not available and the facade is best viewed from street level.
The building was originally known as Reinholdska huset and was initially designed as a combined residence and business property for a confectionery operation. This transformation into a publishing center demonstrates how commercial uses shifted as industries and companies evolved over time.
