Grand Hotel, Mölle, building in Höganäs Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden
Grand Hotel Mölle is an early 20th-century hotel situated in the coastal town of Mölle, Sweden, with views across the sea. The building features Jugend-style architecture with nationalromantic elements, wood details, large windows in 22 rooms, and a wooden porch extending from the east side.
Construction began in 1908 and finished in 1909, originally named Grand Hotel Ahlbäck and designed by architect Erik Zetterström. A large wooden porch was added to the east side in 1911, and the Dahlberg family has owned and operated the hotel since 1963.
The hotel takes its name from a former proprietor and represents the bathing culture tradition that has shaped coastal Swedish life for over a century. Visitors today can still sense this heritage in how locals and travelers use the seaside setting for relaxation and gathering.
The hotel offers 22 rooms with sea views and serves as a good base for exploring nearby nature including Kullaberg headland, coastal walks, and forests. It is equipped to host conferences and special events like weddings, with dining rooms overlooking the water.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited the hotel for lunch in November 2018, leaving a lasting impression on the staff. This event reflects how the property has held a place of honor in Swedish hospitality across generations.
