Fågelöuddebadet, Public beach in Lidingö Municipality, Sweden
Fågelöuddebadet is a public bathing beach along Askrikefjärden bay with roughly 200 meters of sand. The site includes several bathing piers and diving platforms designed for swimming and water activities.
The area was donated to the municipality in 1932 by Lieutenant Colonel Albert Janse and his wife Elisabeth. This gift established the foundation for the site to remain public for future generations.
The beach serves as a gathering place where locals swim and spend time together during warmer months. Organized water activities and swimming lessons happen regularly throughout summer, making it part of the community's rhythm.
The beach can be reached by bus lines 204 or 211 from Ropsten station, with a stop near Fågelöuddevägen. A short walk from the stop takes you down to the beach.
A bronze plaque from 1966 commemorates the Janse family donation and legally ensures the land stays open for public bathing. Most visitors overlook this small marker although it protects the site's future.
