Construction began in 2009 beside Sundsvall's sports hall, and the facility opened in 2010. It was developed as a modern addition to the city's existing sports infrastructure.
The facility incorporates Swedish design elements with characters like Uttern integrated throughout the children's areas to connect with local storytelling traditions.
The indoor area includes a 25x25 meter training pool with twelve lanes, while the outdoor section features a 50-meter pool for competitive swimming. Visitors should note that different areas may have varying uses at different times.
The adventure section contains three water slides, with the longest reaching approximately 130 meters, and features a surf machine installed shortly after opening. This combination offers visitors unusual activities alongside traditional swimming.
