Studenška brv

Studenška brv is a steel footbridge spanning the Drava River in Maribor, stretching about 126 meters with a width ranging from 3 to 6 meters. The structure consists of three sections and features a covering of exotic wood that gives it a warm appearance along the water.

The original bridge at this location was built in 1885 to serve railway workers, but it was destroyed in 1941 during the German invasion of Yugoslavia. The current structure dates from 2008 and replaced what had been lost during that conflict.

The bridge serves as a daily crossing between two neighborhoods with distinct characters on opposite riverbanks. Locals and visitors use it regularly to move between the Studence area and the Lent district, making it part of the city's everyday rhythm.

The crossing connects the Studence neighborhood on one bank to the Lent district on the other, serving both pedestrians and cyclists with level access from both sides. There are no significant obstacles or steep inclines, making it straightforward to use for most people.

The longest of its three sections measures roughly 42 meters and demonstrates impressive engineering across the river. The two separate lanes merge as you move upward along the span, creating a visual convergence at the structure's center.
