Judgement Tower, Medieval fortified tower in Maribor, Slovenia.

The Judgement Tower features a circular floor plan topped by a three-part conical roof covered in brick shingles, with wooden-framed windows piercing its smooth exterior surfaces. Located in Maribor's Lent district near the market area, the structure displays the solid, functional design typical of medieval fortified buildings.

An original tower on this site secured the southwestern corner of Maribor's city walls in the early 14th century. It was completely rebuilt in 1540 and covered with a conical roof that burned down in the 17th century. The tower partially burned again in 1937 and was restored in the 1950s.

The Slovene name Sodni stolp means 'Judgement Tower', a reference to the judicial role the structure held in the medieval city. It stands on the bank of the Drava by today's market, and together with the Water Tower and Jewish Tower it marks the line of Maribor's former walls.

The structure is located in the Lent district near the market area and is easily reached on foot, with visitor information available at the tourism center on Pristan 8. The surrounding Lent quarter offers plenty to explore, making it easy to combine your visit with other nearby attractions.

The tower is one of the last surviving pieces of Maribor's medieval walls, together with the Water Tower and the Jewish Tower. The Benetke Tower, another element of the same circuit, was demolished in the late 1960s to make way for a hydroelectric reservoir on the Drava.
