Khon San, Administrative district in Chaiyaphum, Thailand
Khon San is an administrative district located in the northeastern part of Chaiyaphum province, consisting of several subdistricts spread across rolling terrain. The area includes multiple smaller communities, each with their own local governance structures and village organizations.
The area began as a settlement during the Rattanakosin period and gained official district status in 1959. This recognition formalized the administrative development that had been taking place in the region.
Eight subdistricts divided into 85 villages maintain local governance through three municipalities and six administrative organizations that serve the population of 62,037 residents.
The district is accessible via local roads and minor highways that link the different subdistricts together. Travel is easiest during the dry season when road conditions are at their best.
Natural springs throughout the district provide water year-round to support local farming. These water sources have shaped agricultural practices, particularly the cultivation of areca nut palms in the area.
