The Süreyya Opera House stands on General Asım Gündüz Avenue with a stage measuring 14 meters wide, 10 meters deep, and 4.90 meters high.
Armenian architect Kegham Kavafyan designed this cultural venue in 1924, which opened its doors as the first musical theatre on the Asian side of Istanbul in 1927.
The building operated as a cinema from 1930 to 2005, serving as a central entertainment venue for the local population during the pre-World War II period.
The opera house contains 14 dressing rooms and provides seating for 570 spectators, with performances ranging from opera and ballet to concerts throughout the year.
The architectural design incorporates elements from the Champs-Élysées Theatre in Paris and German architectural styles, marking it as a fusion of European influences.
