Papara Park, Football stadium in Trabzon, Turkey
Papara Park is a football stadium in Trabzon, Turkey, marked by its angular construction with triangular membrane panels supported by steel frames. The venue offers seating across two tiers for 41,500 spectators and sits along the shore of the Black Sea.
The stadium opened on December 18, 2016, replacing the earlier Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium that had been in use since 1951. Construction took place on reclaimed land taken from the Black Sea between 2011 and 2013.
The grounds form part of a wider complex that emerged after decades of use at an older central location, now serving as a gathering point for supporters from across the region. The surroundings combine sports facilities with open spaces by the water, allowing visitors to spend time outdoors before and after matches.
The stadium features 196 VIP seats, 122 luxury boxes, and 2,954 executive class seats, with stands set between 8.5 and 10 meters (28 and 33 feet) from the pitch. The site includes additional sports facilities beyond the main venue spread across the grounds.
The entire complex stands on 79.5 hectares (196 acres) of land reclaimed from the Black Sea between 2011 and 2013. This reclamation process created space for additional sports facilities surrounding the main structure.
