New Taipei City Main Public Library, Public library in Banqiao District, Taiwan.
New Taipei City Main Public Library is a public library in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The building has ten floors above ground and three below, housing reading areas, study zones, and a multimedia collection.
The library opened on May 10, 2015, replacing older and smaller facilities that had served the area before. It was built to give Banqiao District a central and modern place for reading and learning.
The library maintains spaces for materials in many languages, reflecting how the community welcomes people from different backgrounds. Walking through, you notice how these collections serve both local residents and international visitors.
The library is easy to reach by metro, with Far Eastern Hospital Station nearby. Inside, self-checkout terminals and digital catalogs are available, and study rooms can be reserved in advance.
This library was the first in Taiwan to offer a 24-hour service, letting visitors read and study at any hour. The late-night section is accessible separately from the rest of the building, so the service can continue even during quieter hours.
