浮洲橋, Cable-stayed bridge in New Taipei, Taiwan.
Fuzhou Bridge (浮洲橋) is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Erchong Floodway in New Taipei, linking Sanchong District to the Fuzhou area on the opposite bank. It carries multiple vehicle lanes and has dedicated paths for pedestrians and cyclists running along both sides of the roadway.
The bridge opened in 1976, during a period when New Taipei was growing fast and needed new road connections across its river system. It was part of a broader wave of infrastructure built around Taipei at that time.
The bridge sits along the edge of the Erchong Floodway, a wide green corridor that locals use as an outdoor leisure area. On weekends, many residents from Sanchong cycle or walk the riverside paths just below the bridge.
The bridge connects directly to the riverside cycling paths along the Erchong Floodway, so it works well as part of a longer bike ride. Weekdays tend to be less crowded on the pedestrian and cycling paths, while weekends attract many more users.
The name Fuzhou (浮洲) refers to a small sandbar that once sat in the river at this spot, now built over by the surrounding urban fabric. Walking across the bridge puts you directly above the place that gave it its name.
