Hualien Martyrs' Shrine, Memorial shrine in Hualien City, Taiwan
The Hualien Martyrs' Shrine features a red and white multi-tiered Chinese-style Pailou Gate with golden characters at its entrance.
Established in 1915 as Karenkō Shrine during Japanese rule, the structure was rebuilt in 1981 following architectural elements of Northern Chinese palaces.
The shrine maintains Spirit Tablets honoring historical figures such as Koxinga, Liu Yongfu, and Qiu Fengjia alongside military personnel memorials.
Located 1.7 kilometers southeast of Hualien Station, visitors reach the shrine by climbing cement stairs that replaced the former suspension bridge.
The main complex includes the Hall of Righteousness, flanked by the Hall of Benevolent Admiration and the Hall of Sublime Virtue.
