Dzharylhach National Nature Park, Protected coastal area in Skadovsk Raion, Ukraine
The national nature park encompasses Dzharylhach Island, the waters of Dzharylhach Bay, and the coastal strip between Skadovsk and Lazurne, covering 10,000 hectares.
The territory gained scientific recognition in 1923 when the island became part of Askania-Nova Reserve, followed by its integration into State Maritime Reserves in 1927.
The park features a historical lighthouse from 1902, while serving as a crucial research site for studying marine and coastal ecosystems in northern Black Sea.
Visitors can reach the park by taking a regular ferry from Skadovsk port, with services operating more frequently during the summer tourism season.
The park houses 500 plant species, 250 bird species, and provides a migration corridor for 150,000 waterfowl during winter seasons.
