Hirne, Urban settlement in Khartsyzk Hromada, Ukraine
Hirne is an urban-type settlement located within the Khartsyzk Hromada administrative territory in eastern Ukraine. Situated at approximately 218 meters above sea level, the settlement functions as part of the local municipal structure managed by Khartsyzk City council.
The settlement developed during the Soviet era when industrial centers expanded across eastern Ukraine, particularly throughout the Donetsk region. It emerged as part of the broader industrial growth that shaped the eastern territories during that period.
The settlement bears multiple language variations of its name, including Горное in Russian, Гірне in Ukrainian, and هيرني in Arabic.
The settlement maintains basic municipal services and local infrastructure for residents and visitors. Expect the amenities typical of a smaller Ukrainian community rather than those of a major urban center.
Hirne represents one of the 881 urban-type settlements in Ukraine that were affected by the 2023 administrative reform aimed at removing Soviet-era classifications.
