Temnatyk

Temnatyk is a summit in the Borzhava mountain range located in Zakarpattia Oblast and rises to 1343 meters. The slopes are covered with beech and fir forests that transition to open meadows at higher elevations.

The mountain served as a key geographical reference point for local communities over many centuries within the Carpathian region. Its location connected different valleys and settlements across this mountainous area.

Local mountain communities maintain traditional shepherding practices on Temnatyk's meadows, which start appearing above 1200 meters elevation.

Climbing to this summit requires proper mountain gear and good navigation skills, particularly during winter months when snow covers the trails. Visitors who prepare well and pay attention to weather conditions can safely reach the top.

Above about 1200 meters, the mountain transforms into a natural meadow landscape that stands out sharply from the forest below. These open grasslands form naturally due to the conditions at this elevation and offer clear views in all directions.
