Kherson Museum of Local Lore

The Kherson Museum of Local Lore occupies two buildings and houses extensive collections of regional objects and finds. The exhibitions display archaeological discoveries, ancient coins, and items that document different historical periods of this area.

The museum was founded in 1890 based on archaeological discoveries from that era. Since then it has continuously expanded its collection and documents evidence from many historical periods.

The museum displays objects from different eras that show how people lived in this region. Visitors see traditional crafts, clothing, and household items that reflect the everyday life of the area.

The two locations are on different streets, so it helps to visit both to see the complete collection. Plan enough time to walk through the different exhibition areas.

The Natural Science section houses the impressive skeleton of a large sea mammal alongside other rare animal specimens. This collection forms an interesting contrast to the historical artifacts found in the other rooms.
