Ochakov gate

Ochakov Gate is a stone structure with fortification elements that was part of the former Kherson fortress complex. It features characteristic defensive details such as reinforced arched passages and wall embrasures that identify it as a military entrance construction.

The gate is located near Perekopska Street and is easily reached on foot from the city center. Visitors should plan to explore the surrounding area carefully since the structure is integrated into the historic city layout.

The gate still preserves parts of the original masonry that offers insight into the building techniques of that era. Archaeologists have found traces of repairs and modifications here that show how the structure adapted to changing military needs.
