The museum exhibits over 2000 original paleontological specimens across 106 display cases and 5 artistic dioramas on the third floor of the Natural History Museum.
The museum collection started in 1919 with the founding of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and gained its official status as an exhibition space in 1967.
The exhibition features detailed reconstructions of prehistoric landscapes and extinct animals created by scientific artists to represent different geological periods.
The museum holds approximately one million specimens in its repository, with the majority of paleontological findings originating from Ukrainian territories.
The collection includes two structures built from mammoth bones discovered in the Cherkasy region, representing early human architectural achievements.
