Lake Success

Lake Success is a residential village on Long Island characterized by quiet, well-maintained streets lined with single-family homes. The area is crossed by Marcus Avenue and features the typical suburban residential character common to this region of New York.

After World War II, the United Nations temporarily occupied a Sperry Gyroscope Company building on Marcus Avenue as its headquarters. The organization relocated to Manhattan after a few years, moving on from this interim location.

The Lake Success Golf Club maintains a formal 6,329-yard course where members participate in regular tournaments and social gatherings throughout the year.

The location is easily accessible from the Long Island Expressway and offers convenient access to local services. Visitors should note that this is primarily a private residential area.

During World War II, a major manufacturing facility here produced military navigation equipment on a vast scale. This industrial site played an important role in wartime production before being repurposed afterward.
